Estimator
Our client, a leading company in the construction industry, is currently seeking an estimator to join their Toronto team. With a minimum of 5 years estimating experience, the successful candidate must have significant exposure to civil construction.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Understand project drawings and specifications
- Create major budgets, purchase orders, and subcontracts for new projects
- Determine accurate material quantities from project drawings
- Identify risk areas, potential scope of work changes, and any possible costs claims
- Prepare bid bond applications; complete major construction bids
- Ensure subcontracts and PO's align with established prices and conditions
- Liaise with subcontractors, contractors, senior management, and the rest of the construction team
- Documentation of project budgets; conduct project cost reports analysis
- Work with database estimating
Candidate requirements and qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience with a civil construction company
- Civil Engineering Degree or CET, or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Negotiation skills and experience
- Experience bidding on large scale construction projects
- Strong organizational skills
